Classes of Members
The Caribbean College of Surgeons offers various classes of membership, each with specific qualifications and privileges. These memberships recognize surgeons’ qualifications and contributions to the field of surgery or medicine.
Active Fellows
Those who have been admitted by Council of the College after an evaluation of their education and training, professional qualifications, surgical competence, and professional conduct. Such members shall be required to pay fees as determined under Article IX.
Honorary Fellows
Retired Caribbean surgeons of esteemed reputation within the College may be elected as Honorary Fellows. The Council may select individuals renowned in surgery, medicine, or for humanitarian service. Honorary Fellows enjoy privileges, excluding voting or holding office.
Associate Fellows
Physicians who are undergoing training in a surgical programme recognised by the Council of the College. Physicians in other areas of practise and other health personnel may also be admitted to the associate fellowship of the College.
Retired Fellows
Distinguished retired Caribbean surgeons or notable figures in surgery or medicine can become Honorary Fellows. While they enjoy privileges, including participation in College activities, they are not eligible to vote or hold office within the organization.
